i have a 98 mercury, grand marquee it has a digital display for the temp inside of the car and such this morning i turned the heaater on for the first time in a while, and now it is stuck on i still can use the controls such as defrost, vent, and such the only thing is that heat comes out. i set the temp on 60 it is the lowest setting the a\c usually kicks on full blast when i do this now the only thing that happens is the heat comes out full blast. i tried replacing the relay but it had no effect, i also checked the fuses ( interior drivers side ) but all of the fuses were in perfect condition can someone please help me

The heat in that vehicle is controlled by a blend door that regulates heated air flow. it is operated by an electric motor/actuator. The problem can be that the actuator is stripped or inoperative or the door itself could be damaged. This is what needs to be determined by examining the actuator and see if it is responding to heat change commands or not. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
