Hi Lynn and Welcome to the CJ forums.

First issue is to make sure coolant if full at the radiator and not all have a cap at the radiator so can be tricky to know. Get help if needed.

Next is more nasty is if it's low the question is WHY? Leaks could be anywhere but with overheating involved as well a head gasket is in question as that can add "gasses" = vapor into cooling system - can cause loss of heat and overheating so a plausible common denominator.

It's early but do your best not to allow overheating. It can and will be untimely but adding more damage to what might still be simple will help a lot.

Hey - most of the regulars here don't know this car first hand but the concepts are the same. We are international - all welcome and bless him but our regular that would know this car had TWO toddlers now and not here much - understood!Wink

Tom

In your first post you said you overheated. Once is too much. I'm not there observing things but with a piece of sh*t car it no doubt blew a head gasket and you have vapors in the heater core and as hot as vapor can get it won't throw heat for you.

Right now you need help to diagnose head gasket problems IMO,

T
