Howdy
I have a 99 olds alero, 6 cyl, 116,000 miles. I have recently replaced the upper intake gaskets. I have two new problems.
1. over heating and no heat
I have replaced the thermostat
I have burped the system for air bubbles
I have replaced the resevoir cap
The water pump is suppose to be new one.
After the car is warmed up and I hold the RPMs at 1200- 1500 then I have all kinds of heater heat. When at an idle it cools off and blows cold air.
The coolant level drops and runs out of the over flow hose on the resevoir and then over heats.

Any suggestions ????

2. Missing and smells gasy when starting cold.
runs smooth once running
-replaced the fuel regulator
-replaced the plugs
-treated the fuel with injector cleaner

any suggestions

You could have a blown head gasket problem now from the previous intake leak. You might want to get it pressure and chemical tested.
