Hi my initial manifold reading was 27 psi low and 190 psi high with outside ambient around 82F. When i try to add refrigerant low pressure side would increase then drop down to 27 again but high pressure side increased and is at a stable 245. Later i came to find out my low pressure hose inner o ring was teared so i dont know if this is the cause. Will bad low pressure hose effect high pressure? Also why is my low pressure side not increasing? Can anyone explain to me what is going on?

Contrary to what you might have learned from Dr Google, you CANNOT recharge a system using pressures. Pressures are a diagnostic tool AFTER you have completely evacuated and recharged with the exact specified weight of refrigerant. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Yes, that is likely the way the system works. Like I said, that is no indication of how much refrigerant is in the system. Since you didn't bother to post the year, make, model and engine size, I can begin to tell you the characteristics of your particular system. Different systems will operate differently. AC diagnostics are far more complicated than people think they are. Different systems, different models, different service port locations will even change your readings. AC repair is not a DIY service.

Wink: What is this car/thing? Almost anything for about 20+ years uses such little weight of charge it's no longer DIY to measure just pressures is/was the clue it's in ranges to work properly not how much is in it. It's not funny as the web will convince people this is easy and is anything but! It's a trade unto itself best left to those with the equipment at Hammer said I'll add the damage you can do with mistakes just isn't worth it DIY, T

It used to be said that "cars" would lose a little (they did too) and need a boost @ about 7 years. They also came too full, held many pounds of refrigerant new had a pound extra yet worked that much too low so many years. Those days ended expect to lose nothing without a leak. Performance inside with known air temp in front of car is all the test you need. It wouldn't work well or at all at about 15% of listed weight of charge (134a) time to find out why not go adding anything. The web info junk out there will sell you anything once called "Death Kits" DIY your A/C and ruin it or freeze burn yourself in trying. Read underhood now it will say what the charge amount is probably in kilograms IDK every vehicle way but is listed if OE look for it. If you want now that you touched it have it evacuated and recharged to that EXACTLY it's impossible for a car this new to get it to 1/2 ounces accuracy. HT said the pressures mean nothing for how much is in it in fact with electric fans so common mean little need more equipment - forced air not the car's to watch it and believe anything. Buyers beware this will bust the bank doing it wrong, Tom

Topping off is not recommended if you do not have a way to determine how much regrigerant is inside. This is correlated between ambient temperature, existing pressures, and charge specificactions. We do that quite often, under the owner's responsability. Under no circumstances add reafrigerant with sealer. On these Mustangs, common leaks are service ports and discharge hose.
