2006 HONDA PILOT EX-L 45000 Miles

MY AC is working fine, but when I turn the nob on to heat the front vents and windshield defrosters are blowing normal (no cold no hot) air while the rear vents are blowing hot air as wanted. I hope some can suggest me where to start other than dealer.

The temp is controlled by a air mix door that is operated by an electric actuator. It can be a jammed door, bad actuator or electrical control problem.

Two possibilities come to mind.

1. Diverter door or its actuator not working for front. Sometimes you can hear them move in which case if so it's broken and you would need to go there to see just what the fix would be.

2. Control head (I don't think it's that common in a Honda anything) but it may be sending wrong info??

This could be a tough DIY thing. Dealer would take this on but also consider shops that take on A/C problems too. Check if warranty is in effect on a 2006! Some hide that certain things are covered longer than you may know!
