Hot air in my blazer when the a/c is on!!! Login - Sign Up

Hot air comes out of my a/c system even though the a/c is running. I have a 1999 Blazer with climate control. One day I turned on the a/c on and through the vents, the air went from cold to hot then cold to hot and now it is all hot air even if the a/c system is running. I hear a strange coming from somwhere in the dash board. Now when I am driving, I have to shut all the vents to keep from burning up in the vehicle. A/C system is working perfectly with the compressor turning. Please help!!!

Is the compressor itself staying engaged? You'll need to take system pressures and the ambient temp and we can go from there,

I believe it's a vent issue not the a/c. The compressor is working fine.

It needs pressure taken - both high and low with observations of the ambient temp. Ambient is temp directly in front of the condenser at grille.

Compressor may be panting away and you don't know what the heck it's trying to do without the pressures.

If compressor cycles on and off it may be normal or abnormal based on the pressure readings. Cycling happens when pressures are too low OR too high. Even a diverter door will show with erratic pressures. If you don't want to take pressures then post infrared thermo temps along the lines from the compressor and all along the lines to and from the evaporator and I can calculate the pressures.

System could be freezing up and disallowing air flow, diverter door erratic and would show it. If no condensate is noted under vehicle with any reasonable humidity and higher temps (above 70-80ishF) then there is an issue to address.

It's not quite that simple and the pressures are a must to continue or farm it out as that will save you possible expensive problems that could be avoided if timely.
