Heater blowing cold air

Have an Infiniti 2015 QX60. When you turn the heat on, it only blows cold air and
also the car temp gauge in the dash does not heat up. Any
thoughts/ideas on what the cause is?

With the engine at full operating temp, locate the 2 heater hoses where they go into the firewall and feel them to see if they are both hot to the touch. If they are not, then you may have a plugged heater core or bad engine thermostat. If they are both hot, the heat in that vehicle is controlled by a blend door that regulates heated air flow. it is operated by an electric motor/actuator. The problem can be that the actuator is stripped or inoperative or the door itself could be damaged. This is what needs to be determined by examining the actuator and see if it is responding to heat change commands or not. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Haven't been able to check it yet, but my wife said that the temperature gauge in the dash goes to almost half way when idling, but goes all the way down to C when driving.
