2004 Chevy S-10 - 99,000 miles

Last week, my fan switch on the dash stopped working. The temp control dial still works, and I can switch output from defrost to heat to vent, etc.

Flow isn't obstructed - air passes through when I'm driving at speed.

I checked the fuses & they're all OK. Is there some electrical contact on the back of the fan switch that could cause it? I guess it could be some kind of relay switch or a fan motor. I just don't want to tear into my dash unless I need to.

Where is the fan motor or relay switch on this vehicle so I can check them first? Or has anyone else had this problem and knows what it might be?

Re: Fan Switch Doesn't Work Sign In

I tried but a site was down for component location. I think this may be the fan motor itself and that the body of it can be seen on passenger's side under hood. Set the blower to where it should be running and give the body of the motor a tap and it may kick on. If it does the motor itself is the likely problem. If it doesn't see it power get to it or to the resistor for it which is multi-wired and allows for slower fan speeds. Nothing at all should be no power or bad motor. Best I can do for now,

T
