Do AC Flush Kits work?

I am in the middle of replacing my 95 Cherokee Sport condenser, accumulator, and related hoses. Once this is done I know it is wise to flush the system but what is the best method? I know an AC tech who has a vaccuum pump but our equipment is typically for indoor system use, not necessarily on auto equipment. I have seen "AC Flush Kits" advertised with various chemicals and fittings. Are these adequate and do they work? I can't see how an expanding gas can travel around the entire system with the lines disconnected. My system was running last summer and the condenser cracked, so I don't anticipate too many foreign particles.
