Chevrolet Equinox air conditioning issues. Little help please Sign In

Hello to all. I'm new to this forum and would like to thank everyone In advance. Just looking around I've found lots of helpful info.
I have a question about a 2020 Chevy Equinox air conditioning problem I'm having. The car has the 1.5L and has 60,000 miles on it. It quit blowing cold air and I've tried a few things with no luck so far. I've tried recharging the 1234yf system but nothing. The compressor clutch will try to engage when you cut the air on but it clicks a couple times and nothing. The clutch spins freely with your hand. I've checked a heat and air relays and fuses and they're all good. I got the air out of the system when I tried recharging it. The low pressure is reading 35 psi on the low side and 0 on the high side but since the compressor hasn't engaged wouldn't that explain zero pressure on the high side? I'm not a mechanic and I've exhausted all of my little bit of knowledge.
Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Arg! 1234yf, TMK is already obsolete! With that IDK and wouldn't invest in the service end of it but some ideas for you.

See if it's covered by new car warranty! Yes, a silent warranty may exist or look at papers when the car was new transferrable likely if so and a second owner.

I honestly don't know what to do with these vehicles down the road dealers by rights if sold would have to service them for I think 7 years also think 100K.

Ask around the pressures aren't in any line with any other refrigerant also TMK can't retrofit these to 134a!

Hit back talk turkey with a dealer for real what the plan is for these if any yet??

GOOD LUCK,
Tom

No it would not. With the AC off both gauges should read the same pressure of at least 80PSI, higher when the outside temp goes up. When the AC kicks on the low side should go down and the high side should go up so there is something wrong with your gauges.
You did not let air out of the system, that was refrigerant.

If you are seeing 35PSI on the low side when the compressor is off, then it is likely low on refrigerant but you can't just arbitrarily add more. The right way to do this is a complete evacuate and recharge with the exact specified refrigerant weight. You also need to find out what the problem is with your high side reading and where the refrigerant went in the first place.
