Neat chart to show exactly what pressures or lack of (vacuum) does to remove water critical to A/C systems..........

You know it's funny as there was a guy at the A/C site who was nuts about fractionalizing even 29.92+ to .0000? amounts which goes to like -90F or some insane temp.

I was BAD and came back with - "You don't need a vacuum at all" - "Just put the car in the oven and boil out all the moisture!" LMAO. He wasn't amused.

What nobody can agree on is can you extract moisture back out of dessicant either by extended time or higher temps. Most say no.

A good idea is to pull a vacuum with a hot/warmed up engine as you do have just that much more going for you.

So far I can tell with not too much air in a system complete with its moisture that it wont work its best.

You can delete this post as it isn't helful to the info which was just for archives anyway,

The whole idea is that your not drawing it out, your boiling it away. Once it evaporates into a gas, then it is easily drawn out. That's why longer periods of vacuum help. I think anything can be dried out but the desiccant bag will take a little longer.

Exactly - you are removing gasses not liquids of any kind in a plain evac job. I do think you would have to put hygroscopic oils or liquids to the boiling point by heat to even think of extracting moisture and I'm not certain that would be effective??
