Hi, a couple of days ago i noticed that my aircon wasnt blowing out cool air even in an idle state so i figured it ran out so i went to halfords to have it serviced. ok so they sorted the problem out but not completely. the ac works when im driving around the city at around 30mph but when i go on to the motorway at speeds of 50mph+ the aircon fans just blow normal fan air and it doesnt feel as cold as it should be with the aircon set on. so anyway the service is still in warrenty so im gonna take it back to halfords tomorrow but i know they are expensive and i dont trust them, there might be some little problem and they might tell me that they have to change the whole lot and i will end up with a very expensive bill. now i was wondering if any of u kind would kindly point out the fault and let me know what im in for. Thank u :). Ford focus 2002 MK1 Manual 1.8L turbo diesel 100,520 miles

If is goes bad again take it back to the shop. They might have to drive the vehicle with gauges connected and strapped to the windshield to see what the system pressures are when the problem is occurring. What was the cause and fix when you took it into the shop? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Short hoses so I ride on the hood like some freak! Oh smile will you? When all is screwy with auto A/C sometimes if only to further diagnose you need to empty it and charge EXACT weight of refrigerant back in to get a clue?? T

Do it all the time. Fuel gauges taped to the windshield, leads from meters run around the A pillar going in between the gap in the hood. Just don't turn on the windshield wipers. Hey we might look like idiots driving around with a wiring and equipment hang out all over the place, but we are fixing them eh? My boss had this old test lamp for letting you know that you had secondary ignition voltage, that he used to drive around with on vehicles that had intermittent stalling and no starts. I reached up to grab it to look at the flashing light while we were driving down the road. Thing shocked the crap out me. He laughed so hard we both almost ended up in the ditch. Craziest thing I had was running all those leads for chassis ears clamp under the vehicle. Driving around with head phones on and hoping a clamp didn't come off and get wrapped around an axle...LOL. Waekon? Looks like a nice one. We actually have this one, but it only records when a trouble code is generated. And the information is useless most of the time. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Mine has 3 probes. It will record spark fuel pump signal and one other voltage reading of your choice. You have to press a trigger button from the driver's seat when it occur and it records about 10 seconds before and 30 after the trigger. It has software that you load on the laptop and it will graph out all 3 signals simultaneously. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
