AC normally blows cold first thing in the morning when pulling out of garage. Usually turns to hot air within 3-4 miles. Almost always if it has been sitting out in the heat it will blow hot, might blow cold for a mile. Should be good on freon. Any ideas? thanks.

Quote">>Should be good on freon.<<" Just how do you come to that conclusion? There are lots of possible reasons for no or poor cooling. You can't really know if it has the correct charge of refrigerant (freon though now a word, once Freon trademarked by DuPont for R-12 is not used in this car) gas unless evacuated and charged to weight specified. Operating pressures give a clue of what you would expect based on everything involved operating properly. Fan(s) working properly, compressor staying engaged, blend door for temp requested so it isn't fighting with heater and tons more. You will need to post all obserations at what actual temps to even take a stab at knowing why it's not cooling properly, T

Year, make, model, and engine size may help. If you don't have the equipment to repair or the knowledge of how the system operates, suggest you take it to an ac shop for diagnosis. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
