I have a 1997 Plymouth Voyager with a V6 engine automatic trans with 97000 miles on it. What I need is a diagram of the AC so I can check it out as I have replaced the compressor but it still isn't working properly. It will come on but only runs for a little while and then stops cooling. It is not freezing up and I have tried running it different ways but have the same results. So if anyone has a diagram or knows where I can get one I would appreciate the help. I figure ig I no where everything is I may be able to figure this thing out on my own. Thank You

The 1st place to start on this would be with the high & low side pressure readings. While it's working and when it shuts off. You wouldn't want to be chasing down an electrical problem if this a pressure related problem with a/c that is disengaging the compressor.

One thing you could do before taking pressure readings. When the clutch disengages, check the power wire going to the clutch. If it still has 12v that will really narrow it down to a clutch or ground problem.

Just gotta ask Huffy: What happened to the old compressor? How did you charge it back up?

Tom the clutch went bad on the old compressor and I had are mechanic at work who handles a fleet of Mack trucks recharge it for me. He is the one who told me if I could get some kind of diagram of the system he maybe be able to help me with it.

You don't need a diagram you need some A/C help. Clutch has nothing to do with the charge! If the clutch doesn't work you can test it's coil for ohms or if a bearing you replace that or if the air gap is too large you adjust it. None of that has anything to do with the refrigerant charge.

If no power get to the clutch then we look into why. Could have normally shut down as a failsafe for low pressure.

What failure is it having?
