I'm the driver of a 99 Chevy Blazer, just bought in January, used and as is. At the time I used heat being that it was winter and it warmed the cabin just fine. It's now 90 degrees daily and I have no AC and worst of all, there is constant heat being put out even with the controls turned off and on the lowest temp. I have to constantly refill my coolant jug after every drive; I see the fluid leaking after a stop but don't know where's it coming from (no whole in jug). Please advise. Thank you. Edit to add that there is a nasty, fishy odor coming from the vents as well.

Full size Blazer - right? There's two things going on IMO. The loss of coolant and odor strongly suggests a leaking heater core - arggh - a no fun job. The temp staying warm/hot could be a couple things. Blend door could be stuck to the high temp blend and a heater will beat the A/C in any vehicle if there's a stand off. Check for antifreeze dampness on passenger's side floor and windows that have a funky, sticky fog that doesn't clean off so easily and just wiping it makes a mess. That's typical of antifreeze getting inside. This may use a "heater control" valve and or an electric actuator for heated coolant to stop flowing thru heater core in any volume or just divert/mix air to desired temp. You need to address the leak at once! I would join the two heater hoses to the firewall together so coolant can still flow in a loop but sealed from leaking that way. A/C then has no heater to fight with and the leak is gone for now if you do that. Good test to see if A/C is working and diverter door/blend door is operating properly as the most heat it could get is outdoor air temp plus a tad for engine heat. Find and stop/fix the coolant leak before this becomes a host of assorted repairs. I think it's two issues for right now and worth total diagnosis first so you don't go dash diving twice over this! T
