Hello, I have a 1997 G M C Jimmy two wheel drive 4.3 l V6 that i Just Bought, It's blowing cold air. The thermostat (195* Rated) was changed twice, it warms up at Idle, and the temp gauge never goes above 150 degrees, and the air blows warm, and then you take it for a drive and pretty quickly it's blowing cold almost immediately even ------- what am I missing A buddy of mine told me about thermostat temperature sensor that supposedly works with the thermostat, but that's news to me.

You need to use a laser thermometer at the thermostat housing to find out positively what temp this engine is running. If it's still not up to temp, then you still have a thermostat problem. You have to isolate whether you have a heater core problem or an engine temp problem. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
