'96 blazer heat blower works on all settings when it works!

My '96 Blazer 4dr 4x4 4.3 a/c- heat blower some days wont come on till I drive a bit, but never malfunctions after it is working unless I turn off the truck. All settings of blower work fine. Blower ground? resistor? what does it sound like ? Havent done anything other than talk to my parts guy who wants to sell me a resistor.

Is it an Auto Temp Control system or manual?

The "not working" part could be a lot of things but the running after the car is shut off points to the resister. That could be both problems.

no doesnt run when truck is off, sometimes when I turn off and blowe is working fine, then start back up its a mile or five before it comes on.

That's either a weak motor or a poor connection somewhere. The next time it won't come on, take a large screwdriver and rap the blower motor with the handle and see if it jump starts. If it does, change the blower motor. If not, you're going to have to trace the circuit with a test light.
