Monte won't put out any heat, just blows cold air. Husband replaced thermastat, coolant and tried to bleed the 2 valves on top of motor. Does this motor have a heater control valve? The car does not over heat, the heater gauge doesn't go up at all. He felt the radiator hoses and they were warm to the touch. What else can he try?

Thanks!

"Quote - heater gauge doesn't go up" ---- By that you mean the temp gauge doesn't go up and hoses are warm but not real hot to the touch (careful with that) ?

If the engine doesn't warm up the thermostat is the likely problem - new or not. From cold just see if the upper hose gets warm near the radiator end within a couple minutes. It shouldn't and the thermostat could be part open, defective, or mis installed such that coolant gets by it like bent or something,
