91' Mazda 929 Freon HELP!

Ok i am 17 almost 18, we found a 91 mazda for 1200 and the only thing that is wrong with the car is the guy said that he has to put freon into it every 2 months. What could this issue be, they checked for a leak and could not find one, my moms worried about the air compressor being bad and we checked and its worth alone almost as much as the car. We are probably buying it later today if we decide to get it. I need help on this, im not good with cars i dont know much, so please someone tell me is this a good first car? my mom wont let me drive it without air, since in the summer here it gets around 104 degrees F.

Your mom has good reason to worry. It definitely has a leak and someone has to find it. There aren't many things you can fix on an A/C system for under $500
