Hello, All. We have a 2005 Chevy Uplander with a 3.5 engine and around 98000 miles on it. It was rear-ended and repaired recently, but after the repair work was done, we noticed the air wasn't working. You can push the AC button to engage the compressor, but nothing happens. The light won't even come on. What's even crazier is that you can turn the warm/cold dial to just a quarter past cold from the midway point and the heat comes on. I've check the fuses under the hood and all seem to be okay. I've shut everything off inside and unplugged the battery for 25 minutes in an attempt to reset the computer and it still isn't working. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

You probably lost the refrigerant either in the collision or the subsequent repair and they never resolved that issue. i would bring it back to the body shop.

Thanks or the quick reply! I thought it might be that too, but it's charged with refrigerant. I'm thinking it's something electrical (definitely not my forte). Something else I discovered tonight while looking at it, was that on the rear vents, only the bottom vents are blowing. The top vents aren't pushing any air at all. The mystery deepens...

You have some electrical issues that need to be tracked down then.

Bring it back and verify it has the right amount of refrigerant.

It ended up being the switch itself.

A brand new one for our configuration (rear air vents) costs around $450.00. Our mechanic was able to get us a used one for around $200.00. It was an easy fix and the labor was only $25.00.

Hopefully this will help anyone else having this same problem.

Thanks again all!

You must be talking about a control head for that much money.
