How do I remove the AC vent on a 2004 Ford Expedition in order to repair a damaged manual air diverter? Thanks!

First off sorry to be so late. You may need a whole new part uses or new depending on damage hard to know from the post. AllData.com isn't free but would be worth the few bucks for details on replacement, T

What exactly are you trying to replace. There really isn't a component called a "diverter" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Hi. Apologies for my vague post. I'm not good on car parts terminology. There are two air-conditioning vents on the driver side of the 2004 Expedition. The one on the right was abused by car wash folks by pushing it hard left. The plastic air diverters within the vent now don't move when I try to direct the flow. I'm just trying to figure out how to remove the vent unit so I can access the air diverter for repair or replacement. Thanks for your help! John

Hammer - enlighten me! If not called a diverter door what do you call it? No harm or anything intended but I'm now confused? T

OK: Was thinking of the stuff hidden inside distribution box NOT the dash outlets. No matter, T

Thanks to everyone for the assistance - and education. Now, I'll fix my "instrument panel registers". Thanks! John
