2003 GMC envoy will not blow air through dash or floor vents with heater selected. It will blow through the defroster and the rear heater vents. The air recirculate button on the control; panel will only blink and then go out if pushed. I recently replaced the battery about 3 weeks ago and that is when the problem started or at least that is when the wife started complaining about it. The fan motor works on all speeds just will not push air through the vents.

Sounds like you have a bad mode actuator. On GMs when you disconnect the power & hook it back up the actuators go thru a self test. Basically they go from stop to stop so they know the range of the HVAC box they are in. What I've seen on the mode actuators is, during the test, it will crack the gear on one sweep & that is where it stays. A memory saver eliminates this problem.

They're not to expensive, about $50 or $60 but can be fun to replace. If you do this yourself.....DO NOT PLUG IN THE ACTUATOR UNTIL IT'S MOUNTED... If you do it will start the self test immediately and now the new actuator is out of time........

Hope this helps

Thanks for the info. I just tried to reset the HVAC panel by pulling the HVAC B fuse and letting it reset itself, but that didn't help any. I will give the actuator a shot and go from there.
