If this is a new problem I would flush out the system. Some climate controlled cars will not blow out blasting heat -- mine don't and didn't when new. Start with the flushing and see what happens, T

If this turns out to be a heater core problem I have good news. There should be an access plate under the center of dash below radio console. If you remove the electric temp. motor you will see a diagonal plate held on by 3 screws. The core sits behind it. You don't have to take the whole module out!. You will need to pry the dash out a little with a prybar to get the core out and it is a pain, but nothing like what Taurus' used to be. I just did one on my daughter's car over the summer and it only took an hour. She has a 2002 Taurus. Hopefully yours is the same design. As always, make sure the temp. guage is at normal operating temperature to make sure the thermostat is not the problem. But I am seeing more of these Taurus' having heater core problems. Steve
