2001 accord heater fan switch Sign In

The heater switch on my 2001 accord doesn't work in position 1 or 2. It will work in position 3 and 4. Is the problem the switch itself or is there a fuse or some other electrical component I can check. Is it something I can troubleshoot myself or does the dashboard have to be removed to get at the switch.trying to minimize the cost.

Thank you
Frank B.

That is most likely a bad blower motor resister. It's located in the heater housing, right next to the blower motor, under the dash on the passenger side.

Generally they will defaut to high fan only but who knows? As HT suggested I try a new one. Hate to just toss parts but would in this case,

Thanks for the advice! Can I ask you this? Before I start digging into this, what should I be looking for when I get under the dash? Is the resister visibile, how do I locate it, how do I test it, is it easily removable and where do I get a new one.

Thanks, Frank

You will see it plugged in right next to the blower motor. If you buy the part you will see what it looks like.
