2000 Ford Windstar No More Heat. Fan works fine.

2000 Ford Windstar No More Heat. Fan works fine. Sign In

Heater was working fine. Heard some clicking noise under the hood. No more clicking, no more heat. Fan works fine. Any Suggestions?

do you hear clicking behind the radio area when you change the temp.. if so there is a blend door motor behind the radio that is quite common problem with those vans. Pull the radio out you will see a while block looks like picture attached remove the 3 screws holding it in leave harness attached and confirm that the motor is INOP by moving the temp back and forth with key on.

If that dosen't seem to be the issue.. check coolant level, condition.. you won't be able to reach heater hoses w/o taking off hood cowl

Shocked You Nailed IT! That clicking noise was directly behind the radio. I began searching yesterday to find a forum to help me identify the problem. After accessing several FREE ADVICE sites that eventually asked me how much I'd be WILLING to pay for the best guess to the remedy of my peoblem, I stumbled accross CarJunky. Definately bookmarked. By the way. My friend has a 1999 Windstar that when it cold starts, he must play with the accelerator untill it warms up. Then it will idle. What do you think? Thanks again for the info on our heating problem.

should be separate question but more then likely its IAC(Idle air control valve)
