Problem: A/C does not work: Compressor does not come on and the air only blows out into the floor. Both of these issues began simultaneously. All fuses in the truck and under the hood are fine and the a/c relay is fine. I got in my truck to pick my children up from school yesterday and the blower works only on the floor setting and the a/c no longer was cold.
Situation:
One, the speed next to high on the blower quit working about a week ago.
I had to remove the dash trim piece to remove the radio yesterday and a wire that is hooked up to the 12v power wire running up the steering column touched metal for just a second and sparked, but no fuses were blown. I cannot remember correctly if this issue began immediately after that or not.
Any help is greatly appreciated. It is HOT here right now. Thank you in advance.

These vehicles have a lot of problems with the control heads. If it was just the blower, it may be something else but since you lost more than one function controlled by the control head, that is likely where your problem is. Double check your fuses using a test light, not just looking at them.
