My vehicle information: 1997 Chevy Blazer LT 4.3 V6 123500 miles My problem(s) Neither the AC or Heater in my blazer work at all. My blower motor works, it decreases/increases air flow has I adjust it roll switch but both the AC and Heat settings just blow air that is the outside temperature. My air controls (AC and Heat) are three differents switces. First is a rotating knob that has multiple settings: Max AC AC Setting to blow air through both upper and lower vents. Setting to blow air through upper vents. Setting to blow air through Lower vents Setting to blow air through lower vents and defroster(s) Setting to blow air through defrosters. Next a a rotating knob that adjusts (or should adjust) the tempeature of the air in the cabin. It is not fancy just a red or blue line at the the two extremes Finally an up and down sliding knob that adjusts how much air is being blown through the vents. The first and third knobs seem to work as they should. where air flow comes from and how much air comes does change as I rotate through settings. The temperture knob doesn't change temperature at all. Other info: My heater is (far) more important to me of the two. I live in Montana and work in North Dakota and Wyoming, I would like to have AC about 2-3 months out of the year, but need a heater most of the rest of the year. I have felt the two return lines that go into the cabin at the firewill, I can't feel a temperature difference between them. Neither felt warm or cool to the touch. Some times while driving I hear what sounds like fluid moving around (leaking) in the vincintiy of where a front passenger would have their legs. I have never noticed any liquid in that area, but have never removed the floor carpeting either. I have never smelt a sweet aroma to the air in my cabin (suggesting heater core leak). Normal running engine temp (based on dash gauge). Is slightly above 210 (smidge above one quarter of whole gauge) seems pretty normal. Have had temperature sensor replaced (March 2009). Air flow in cabin seems to be higher (given full blower setting) when temperature knob turned to full cold, and on one the AC settings. Air flow seems to lowest (given full blower setting) when set to full heat and not on an AC setting Air flow through defroster is also fairly weak on full blower setting. Help designing a plan of attack would be greatly appreciated if you could send a response to my email jonathan.k.mcdowell@gmail.com that would be great.
