Hello,

I'm not very car savvy but I will try to give as much information as I can. I own a 1996 Nissan Altima GXE. I believe the engine size is a 3.3 or 3.5 Liter, but I'm not entirely sure. The mileage is 159,000 roughly speaking.

When I turn on my heater the fan works but there is no warm air. When I turn on the A/C it will work with no problems. There were no problems to indicate trouble with the heater, it just stopped working. No bangs, grunts, "dimming of lights", it just stopped producing warm air and only blows cold air. Thinking it was a fuse, my husband replaced them. That did not work. We then thought it was the thermostat but can't find the thermostat to try to replace it.

Can you help us to locate the thermostat to replace it and have you ever heard of this problem before? If so, how did they fix it?

Thank you for your time.

Though I find it rare for failed T stats it does happen. To diagnose - see if upper rad hose gets warm before engine is warm. If so I would replace it and it should be located and engine end of upper radiator hose in a housing. If not that it may need a good flush but that usually is slow decline in heat,

T
