So I am freezing my butt off. This just started giving me problems yesterday.
First off i start my car and out of no where the blower wont turn on, no matter what setting i have it on. Will needing to drive it to get to work i head out. After a while it seemingly randomly turns on and works fine.
So today i take it out again. Same thing, not working when i start the car up, then after i hit a bump it turns on and works fine. Now i take it out once more, still not working right away, this time it runs super slow and is making a clicking noise while i run the car.

Anyone have any idea what is making this happen? Or even better how to fix it myself with out paying out the nose?
Thanks for any help you guys may be able to give me.

Hmmm - blower should look like this.........

Make sure that connector is good as this is intermittent. Most need the body+flange to be grounded but not sure on this one with the two wires going into motor.

Plain test light when NOT working see if power gets there. Probably does. Try a love tap while NOT working and it may start up - do that when blower is requested and should be working. If that starts it right up right away that's enough reason to replace it. Not bad - under $40US if you shop around and re-use the squirrel cage blower wheel. WATCH OUT - IT MAY BE HELD ON WITH REVERSE THREADED NUT - check new one for the threads, mark wheel if it could go backwards which side is out and go for it. Unless (IDK) this is placed in a real hard to get to spot this should be easy.

You can also try adding ground to that flange with a jumper wire. If that alone makes it work look for how the flange/body of motor is grounded and clean or fix that. Again - don't think by looks this one does it that way. I'm really thinking motor is the problem but it could be something else?

Good luck,

T
