Theres a A/C leak detector kit you can buy at most auto parts stores.
It has dye in it that shows up with the special light and glasses they give you in the kit.

Oh boy another suicide can victim. Your system holds 2.0 lbs if you have a only a front system. If you have front and rear evaporators, the system holds 3.0 lbs. A typical suicide can of refrigerant is 12 ounces. There are 16 ounces in a pound, so one can isn't going to do it.

You should take your vehicle into a shop that specializes in ac repair and have them evacuate, vacuum, dye, and recharge your system to the correct weight. All your going to do is burn up the ac compressor from a low charge which will result in very costly repairs.

I know you are probably looking at this and thinking, Heck no! I am not going to let some mechanic rip me off, but you should consider finding a reputable shop in your area to repair your ac system. You'll save money in the long run.

Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
