Any time the compressor is operating the fan to condenser should be operating. Are you saying that this button shuts off the fan even with compressor working? Is the button doing this by itself or by your request?

i'm saying, when i start the engine and hit the AC button the condenser fan doesn't turn on. i can see it with the hood open after i push in the Recirculated Air button on the climate control unit... my condenser fan kicks in and it starts spinning the condenser fan.

Gotya. The fan should be on and not care whether you ask for recirc or not and the allmighty truth is I don't know whyCrazyCrazy. In this 12+ year old car if it works well on recirc just keep it there. It's easier on the A/C anyway and would cool better as it is cooling air that has already been cooled vs ambient temp air. When you first get in the car parked in the sun it's best to open windows for a while either way.

I don't know why they give you a choice anyway. My own old Lincolns don't and will freeze a side of beef!!

You do still get a percentage of fresh air no matter what setting you chose for anything.

Now if that fan stays on with A/C off there's something to fix. This button is likely at fault and a big PIA to get at even to test out.

Let us know if you need to go further with this and I'll see what I can find out or others may find somethingSmile Stay cool,

T
