1994 gmc p/U-AC TROUBLE

ac compresor will not come on ,i had a buddy check the system and it showed system was charged.when i push the ac button it just flashes ac on and off.not sure what you call the canister on fire wall buy it has a 12v plug and that plug does not have power when truck is running should it or does the compresor have to running before that plug will have power. thanks for any tips you hep me with.RICKY G

I'm giving you the wiring diagram. What your going to have to do is follow the diagram with a test light to find your problem.
