My Sister's blower motor has been making noises for awhile now knew I would have to fix it sooner or later. It went out yesterday while I was at the casino..... Anyway I pulled the old one out today and it was bad, pieces were floating around in the motor housing. Got the replacement motor installed it and nothing checked the fuse schematic under the drivers dash and I do not see any fuse that says that it is for the blower motor could you help me out on this one. Also How would I check the wiring that goes to the fan motor itself and what kind of checks can I do on the Fan switch? Witch was working fine up until yesterday. thanks for your time

What model of Olds and does it have automatic (climate control) or manual AC/heating system?
Regardless the fuse might be labelled AC/heater or something along that line; I don’t think you will fine one just for the blower motor.
A basic test light is probably the only test equipment you’ll need.
If you can answer the above questions; I’ll be able to look up a wiring diagram and post it if necessary.

Dan,
It is a Royale. Not sure as far as the climate control system. It has a hot to cold blend slide knob on top, fan switch to the right side of the system control cluster, and a round knob lower right for functions ac, heat, defrost, and so on.
I hope this helps. It has been a pretty good winter so far here in Michigan, not to cold, but this morning 9 degrees out there in the driveway figures.... Thanks for your time

With your description; this is likely a manual heater/AC system.
When you replaced the motor; did you reinstall the metal tab that is held to the motor’s mounting flange by one of the mounting bolts?
That is where the black wire would connect and the black wire is the ground for the motor.
The purple should have power on it any time that the ignition switch is on and heater is in any position other then off. If you’re using a test light to check for power; the intensity of the light’s bulb will increase; as you move the fan speed switch from low, M1, M2 and then to high. Also when switched from M2 to high you should hear the high speed blower motor relay click. When the relay is energized (clicks); power for high speed is drawn directly from a battery source; by-passing the resistor assembly.
Here a wiring diagram for this heater system; diagrams are drawn with switches & relays at the rest (off) position.
