I recently got this truck from my dad and the A/C had not been working for him. In the instrument panel under the stock radio where the Heat and A/C functions are I noticed the little A/C light flashing. So out of curiosity I replaced the freon in the truck. I started the truck up nothing. (I will make this note now that the A/C light flashing for some reason makes the a/c just blow out air.) So back to the story, my father suggested I try resetting the battery. So I did that and the light became solid (no longer flashing) and finally had cold air. But if I turn the truck off the light starts flashing again, and lately the reset the battery solution hasn't worked. Any ideas?

The light is flashing to let you know that the computer has recognized a fault and shut the system down. Disconnecting the battery clears the memory and makes everything start over. The fault is still there so it does the same thing again. The system needs to be diagnosed properly to find the problem that is triggering everything. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
