On my 1976 chevrolet truck the a/c motor resistor assembly has been unplugged for as long as I've owned it. These resistors are prown to going out they can be tested with a test light and seen this done once but having trouble remembering the exact procedure. Thankyou;

Are you missing speeds? Why would you need to test it rather than just plugging it in? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

It was unplugged for some reason I don't know why. I figured there's reason why didn't they have a tendency to run down the battery. I'm just now starting to look at the a/c system.

No, it won't run down the battery. It's just a resister on the ground side of the circuit.

If the blower runs and won't shut off, then replace it.
