04 Jeep Grand Cherokee -No heat on passenger side	Sign In

04 Jeep Gr Cherokee 8 cyl- 75000 miles

Always blows cold air to passenger side regardless if heat is working to the driver's side when A/C is turned off. Has dual climate control but passenger side does not respond to heating controls.

Vent responses do not correspond to dialed/desired settings.

Dealership wants close to $1500 to fix. Is this reasonable? Do I have to pull apart the dash to get to the vents , or get to it from the engine compartment?

Any ideas?

What did the dealer say the problem was? It would be either a diverter/blend door not working for a couple reasons or it may be sent the wrong signals from the request. I don't have a labor time guide but some of this stuff takes hours to get at, fix and reassemble tons of dash stuff.

You're not alone with this relatively new rage to have left and right controls but damn it's a PITA before messing it all up and complicating it even more. Are people so lame they can't just open a window if too hot on one side or perhaps with A/C just closing part or totally the vent on your side to your liking.

If you don't know what the diagnosis was for a $1,500 fix then I suggest you find a shop that only deals with A/C issues and nail down why it's doing this. Yes it could be nasty expensive, or maybe not,

It sounds like you have a blend door issue as Tom suggests. It requires removing the entire dash to access most parts involved there soo that explains the pricing.
