Front blower stopped working from 1 to 4 on the control knob position but works fine on position 5. The back blower did this two years ago on position 1 but works on 2 and 3. I haven't messed with the back one yet but this front problem is a big deal for my wife.

That is most likely a bad blower resister located next to the blower motor but the reason it failed may be because ythe blower motor itself is tired and drawing too much current so I would advise replacing both.
