Without wild testing the guess is that the fan speed resistor has failed. The more usual failure is to leave you with HIGH speed only but there have been some that hung on to the upper two speeds at least for a while. I suggest you check voltage output of your alternator. It should be regulated NOT to exceed about 14.5 volts DC while running. Items will tolerate raised voltage but by about 17+ things will begin to fail.
