HELP! ~E girl DanD Veteran / Moderator Mar 31, 2007, 7:48 AM Post #2 of 3 (1087 views) Re: wrong gas used Sign In Diesel fuel in a gas engine won’t likely do any damage; it will make it run like crap if at all depending on how much was put in. You’ll have to have the fuel tank drained and refilled with fresh gas and maybe add some fuel conditioner or injector cleaner but that should be about all. There is a chance that the oxygen sensor may become contaminated and need replacing but that’s not a big deal. Again depending on how much diesel fuel is in the tank and whether the engine is still running you may need to replace the spark plugs if they become fouled? Let us know how this plays out. Dan.
