Link deleted I had to junk my 1999 Savana 1500. The frame was so rusted it was dangerous. So I'm looking for a 'new' one. Found one for $1500 (same year and model of my old one). Guessing it has a 5.7 inside, why would it not accelerate past 30mph? 1999 GMC Savana 1500, 5.7, 140,000 Don't have much info on it now. Will inspect it this weekend. Anything I should particularly look at? After owning one for 10+ and doing a lot of repair, I do "know" my way around this beast. Any ideas? Thank you. PS If the link doesn't make it thru, here's the craigslist text: condition: fair fuel: gas odometer: 138000 paint color: green title status: clean transmission: automatic type: van Won’t accelerate passed 30mph,missing inside door panel. Passenger mirror housing broken. Backseat won’t fold up Van is in fair condition four used new tires. Clean Title.

There are few things that can cause symptoms like that. I'm assuming you are getting the same RPM limitations in Park and Neutral. Plugged Catalytic Converter Low fuel pressure jumped timing (also hard starting) Transmission problems ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
