Hi there, I have a 1996 Ford Explorer and I've noticed that water is leaking in from the windshield, somewhere along the passenger side. I was wondering if using [url=www.xiameter.com/en/ExploreSilicones/Silicone_Rubber/Pages/silicone-rubber.aspx]silicone would be a good fix to stop the leak. Or would I need the get the whole windshield replaced?

Is the body rusted or do you think rust is causing this?
First, I would isolate where it leaks by using high end painter's tape that will temporarily seal it to find exact area. Then if you can prove the area seal just there with exactly what is required for windshield replacement. If wrong it may get so stuck that nothing else is going to work with silicons especially.
This happens more with aftermarket glass replacement and rust than any other cause I've found. The glass specialty shops can usually seal it in place and there's always a risk if it has to come out to seal that the glass breaks. If you don't have glass coverage thru insurance I'd let or ask an auto glass shop for a quote. You may be surprised that it isn't costly or that they might even do that as a courtesy is just minor OR declare that the glass does have to come out OR be replaced,
