If you can hear the motor operate when you hit the switch & can pull the glass up by hand, then more that likely a regulator cable broke.....

Switch might not be making electrical contact when you pull up on it.

Sidom is correct. It sounds like the regulator has come apart. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
