We are watching but need more info. What year and engine is this? Does this run fine except for just that RPM for some reason?? Can you run right thru that RPM and still have normal power? If you can, get a code reading on this,

T

On Edit: AutoZone and others do basic code reading and may be open later if needed....

It is a 1993 K5 Blazer. It has a 350 in it. It does run fine before I hit 1400 rpms and then after I pass 1400 rpms. I will see if I can get an OBD code for you.

Ok this is a follow up on my blazer since I got a reading. The code was 43esc. I'm not quite sure what to do now. I went out there this morning and it started right up but just as soon as it warmed up, it idled down until it turned off. I started it back up and it just fired up but right away idled down till it turned itself off.

I have no idea what to do. I am a young woman in a different state where I know no one, just trying to get home safely. What do I do? I'm getting scared that I'm not going to make it home. I already missed Thanksgiving with my family. I don't want to miss Christmas too. :(

I don't have a chart for that in front of me. Didn't they tell you what item or what that was about. Are you going to try to fix this yourself? I'll bet it's a crankshaft sensor but that's just a wild guess. If it's going to a shop anyway just let them handle this and save your holidays,

esc means electronic spark control. It usualy means that its out of time or like tom said something like that. Its possible that the esc connector came unplugged its sometimes under the passenger side carpet or under the dash but doesnt sound too expensive

Ok. I'm still stuck with my truck down here in Florida trying my hardest to get back up to Alabama. Yes I am trying to fix this myself.Frown

Somebody down here told me something about my truck trying to go into "loop" but for whatever reason can't. Can you please try to better explain this to me.

I think that I'm almost to the point of just setting this DARN Blazer on fire. (not really but that's how I'm feeling right now)Mad

Re: why does my Blazer stall at 1400 rpms Sign In

when the vehicle is first started up cold ,it runs in whats called "open loop"...meaning it runs off of preset
parameters in the computer.once its warms up to operating temperature it goes into whats called "closed loop"meaning the computer controls how it runs based on input from various sensors.
as far as whats making it stall out ,man thats hard to say without more info....several things can cause a stall concern.i know your trying to repair yourself and i admire that, but just a s a thought, why not take in to a reputable repair facility & at the very least have it diagnosed, then decide if you want to repair yourself or have them or someone else do it.it may just be worth the diagnostics charge.....good luck.....
