warranty up now i have engine problems

my warranty was up a few months ago i should have gotten a extended one but didn't now my engine is knocking i only had the car for 9 months i am still paying on it i took it to the dealership they referred me to thier mechanic and they said the engine was gonna have to be rebuilt or replaced because of a rod the dealership said to give them a couple of days to see if they could get a used engine or a trade in price for me my question is are these my only options

pretty much yes or you can locate and buy your engine and have some 1 too put it in trust me dealer and i dont get along cause i baught my 05 durango and it had problems since i had it and the dealer is saying those things are not cover with my warranty i told em BS so i fixed the problems and made them reaberse me on the work good thing i am a tech or i be in deep sh**....lmao you dont wanna deal with the dealer trust me
