trouble starting after gas fill up? Sign In

2000 Corolla.

Anytime I put gas in the car either filling it up or just throwing in $10 the car has trouble starting everytime I try to leave the gas station. It really struggles to start and I have to keep the key "turned over" for a few seconds until the car will finally start up.

Then, about 50-75 miles later the check engine light comes on.

Ive had it to the dealer 2x already and they still havent solved the problem. They replaced the "fuel filler pipe", but that obv wasnt the problem.

ANy ideas?

Had it back today and they said they have to do a "smoke test", although I informed them that they did that the first time I was there (diff service team). He still said they were gonna do it, but were out of nitrogen so I had to wait until tomorrow...

They had a few codes listed on my last reciept, but the paper is in my car at the dealer so I dont have access to them right now.

Hi....
I don't know the answer to your question but I can say that it is not good to pump a fuel injector engine, because it does nothing. I think link deleted solve your problem....
