A 94 nissan j-30 keeps leaking through the pump seal on trans, after replacing torque converter I'm installing the third seal.The trans works good, but starting to believe theres a problem with the pump. Now (I'M)

thinking about the GAS and a MATCH solution

. I thought about taking it to a trans shop to have the pressure check. O.k. Tom / Way2old tell me if i'm going about this wrong.

I used to do those with about your luck on other makes but same idea. They would stop a hemmorage leak for a while and slowly come back. They were all cars not worth much so never went further. I think the torque converter to front pump is either now damaged or the front pump can hold the connection on center well enough and the seal can't flex that much for that long. It's one good reason why trans shops default to total overhauls instead of trying to save the bucks as in the long run you just get a ticked off customer who will probaby forget the initial expense but will remember that the job didn't work for long.

If you have the time and can now do this fast try the front pump - not sure what they cost separately or if there's bushing bearing kit for them?? I think it was Allied Signal/Fram that used to sell kits - not sure now??

I have to agree with Tom on the pump and seal. I have seen many people replace the torque converter seal when the pump seal was the one leaking.

Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds
