I drive a 2004 GMC Envoy with a 4.2 litre V-6 engine & pull a travel trailer about 1000 lbs under the 5200 lb limit for this Envoy.
On a level road, it is difficult to maintain a speed much above 50 mph at around 1500 rpms. The slightest grade causes the transmission to downshift to 3rd gear & the engine jumps to 2000 rpms.
Would the addition of a electric blower or belt driven centrifugal super charger increase the HP enough to allow me to cruse at 55 mph in 4th gear while towing my travel trailer on a level highway?

No If you want to haul the weight of a large SUV behind you you will downshift with almost any power available at 1,500 rpm as it should. The behavior noted is normal. If you want more towing authority overall change out the vehicle completely for one rated for the load,
