i replaced the steering rack myself and had it aligned at a local Mavis shop. just noticed today that when the wheels are straight ahead..... i can turn 1 1/4 turns to the right and 1 3/4 to the left. is that in itself a major problem??? what brought all this to my attention was pulling out of a parking spot i had the steering wheel cut all the way to the left and it sounded like the tire was rubbing up against the fender splash shields. should the alignment shop be able to correct this? __________________________________________________ 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee 2002 Ford Ranger 2004 Toyota Corolla 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1

Whatever vehiclel this is replacement parts need to be installed in the exact straight forward position and with steering wheel in straight forward position. Then adjust/correct with alignment at TREs. Gear boxes and rack are designed such that the center/straight ahead position has little or no lash and it increases the lash (freeplay) when turned which makes up for unequal radiuses and it may be at an extreme on normal driving now. It all has to start with being centered, T
