How do you change a starter in 2000 cadilliac deville. No money to take it to a mechanic, but have starter.

disconnect both battery terminals.

disconnect the power lead to the starter.

unbolt starter

remove started from bell housing

lift new starter into place.

bolt starter down.

re-attach starter power lead.

reconnect batter terminals.

Job well done....grab a cold one

You failed to mention that the intake manifold has to be removed to access the starter.
Starter is under the intake ..
