Hey All,

03 Chrysler Van 3.3 liter. Auto transmission

Replace starter and battery but engine wont turn over. Bendix sound like it is engaging but wont turn over motor.
Motor will rotate by hand via harmonic balencer but not with starter.

Secret relay that is bad? Fried wire somewhere?

This is driving me crazy....arggggg. Any help would be appreciated.

If you are hearing the starter "click" when you turn the key, it sounds like you either have a bad battery or connection problem. 1st thing is to have the battery tested & make sure it's good. Then clean the terminal really good. Might no be a bad idea to even trace the neg cable down the block, unbolt it & clean that area as well

I am pretty sure the battery is good as I swapped it from another vehicle which starts without problem.

I didn't think about tracing the ground cable though. I check the volts going into the starter and it
showed 18 v on the meter.

guess I give the ground cable a try.

Thanks

Lt.; You may want to recheck that voltage reading. You are dealing with a 12V system, here.
You should have 12V (or equal to battery voltage) at the large terminal on the starter. When the key is turned to the 'start' position, you should have equal voltage to the small terminal on the starter. If you don't, then you'll need to start working backwards from there..Relay, ignition switch, ect.
